Ron MacLeod first became involved in Hydro Electric in 1977 while trout fishing in Maine. His first experience was to crawl all around a de-commissioned 500 kw site on the Kennebago River. The hook was set deep. Since that time Ron has gone on to build water turbines as small as 500 watts; and now owns a 810 kW Hydro Site in New Hampshire. Ron is the principle member of Nautilus LLC.
Jake grew up on a millstream in the town of Woodstock, NY. He met Ron while building an electric vehicle at Hampshire College. After graduating and working as a manufacturing engineer for a short time, he decided to leave his job and pursue building small turbines at Nautilus LLC. Since then each day has been a new lesson in hydro electricity and exercise in using his CAD/CAM techniques to develop high quality turbines for clients around the world.
While in college, Aaron became interested in water turbines and built a small cross flow turbine for a class project. As a member of Nautilus LLC, he brings his knowledge of CAD technology, attention to detail, and desire to design and build robust and reliable systems. He enjoys working on projects that have a positive impact on the way we live and believes hydro turbines to be a key part of this puzzle. He is excited to be a partner in not only raising awareness about our energy use habits, but also providing a viable alternative to power generation.
